Our Mission & Purpose

A Great Commitment to the Great Commandment and the Great Commission will grow the Church.

Clarks Chapel exists to Magnify God, fulfill the Great Mission through evangelism, develop Christlike Maturity, equip people and demonstrate Ministry through service, and incorporate all of God’s family into our fellowship and Membership.

Our vision arises from our understanding of what the sovereign God purposes to do for and through His church. The Great Commission remains our mandate from Christ.

Join us at our new location in the very near future

God is moving in extraordinary ways, and we are thrilled to be part of this divine journey! With the Lord’s guidance, we have secured five beautiful acres on Hwy 69, conveniently located just moments away from Rains County School. Our construction efforts began in late 2023, and we can hardly contain our excitement as we look forward to relocating to this new home in the near furture. This transition to Emory presents a wonderful opportunity for us to expand our reach and better serve the needs of Rains County and the surrounding communities. As we embark on this incredible adventure, we warmly invite you to join us in creating a vibrant community where faith flourishes and lives are transformed. Together, we will not only build a structure but also a welcoming sanctuary for all who seek hope, love, and connection. Our doors will be wide open, and we eagerly anticipate the chance to welcome you into this exciting new chapter of our ministry.

Jesus said, “God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth” (John 4:24). That means worship isn’t confined to a building or a moment — it’s a lifestyle. It’s how we respond to His grace, His sacrifice, and His resurrection.

At Clarks Chapel Church of God, we always love to see you join us in person for worship, but we understand that sometimes circumstances arise that may prevent that – so we have made our Sunday morning services available online so that you can watch live, or find a past service to watch or share with a friend.

Who We Are

Our Team & Leadership

Clarks Chapel Church of God, the oldest “active” Church of God in the state of Texas, was organized on August 12, 1917. Over the 108-year history, there have been a total of 48 pastors, with our current pastor being Bishop Rudy Bond, who was appointed on October 9, 2022.

Under his leadership over the past three years, our average attendance has more than doubled, as well as increasing our overall giving. In just a short amount of time, we have been able to purchase five acres on Hwy 69 just down from Rains County School and begin the construction of our new facility, as well as relocate, refurbish the parsonage.

We are looking forward to relocating to Emory and continuing to grow to meet the needs of Rains County and surrounding communities.
