Our Team & Leadership

Clarks Chapel Church of God, the oldest “active” Church of God in the state of Texas, was organized on August 12, 1917. Over the 107-year history, there have been a total of 48 pastors, with our current pastor being Bishop Rudy Bond, who was appointed on October 9, 2022.

Under his leadership over the past 3 years, our average attendance has more than doubled, as well as increasing our overall giving. In just a short amount of time, we were able to purchase five acres on Hwy 69 just down from Rains County School and begin the construction of our new facility, as well as relocate, refurbish, and add a two-car garage onto the parsonage.

We are looking forward to relocating to Emory and continuing to grow to meet the needs of Rains County and surrounding communities.
